The purpose of these exercises is to train two methods, the memory palace and mind mapping. Once you train yourself to use them, you can apply them to your work or studies:
- The memory palace method is useful when you have to learn things in a certain order. For example, in a presentation or a speach, you have to present your ideas in a certain order. - The mind mapping method is useful to rehearse exams or memorize articles.
Memory trainings and their limits
Online memory trainings, according to researches, seem to have no significant impact on memory. What happens is that when you train regularly with such an exercise, you become good at this particular memory exercise, but not necessarily at other memory exercises.

On the other side, methods like memory palace (or mind palace) do have an impact. Most of memory champions are using the technique, and researches show that when it comes to memorize a series of unrelated words, individuals using this technique outperform individuals who do not use it.
